I’ve searched for this issue and can find only old (2007 & earlier) info regarding it.

I have the latest version of xampp 1.7.2, latest version of WP 2.8.5, & a windows xp machine.

What is the most straight-forward, basic way to set up additional sites using xampp? I’m sure many others will benefit from this as well if this post is resolved.

A google search has led me to tutorials on non-WordPress fixes that i am insecure to manipulate for WordPress and if so are from 2007 (older versions of xampp).

    Thank you in advance~

(main concern is to find most current fix – versus 2 year old + posts)

I think I got it. I went to computer/local C:/xampp/htdocs….then created a new folder within htdocs. Folder name is the new site name. dragged a clean/new download of WP into that folder. I started xampp (mysql and apache) and went to localhost/new site name. Went thru the normal set up as I did with the original xampp site. New site created/hosted with xampp. Install was clean and I installed a theme just for test and it worked. If this is not the proper way, please let me know…otherwise – so far so good. If someone needs help or more clarification please post reply and i will walk you thru it. Trial and error worked better than confusing searches and random install tips.
