  • Are you using an SEO plugin or does your theme include that function? If so, they typically have options of what is indexed and what is not…so then set not to index search pages…

If you are not using an SEO, then the most likely answer is that some other site with traffic has put that URL on their site and it is being indexed from there.

    Review Google Webmaster Tools.

    Hey Swanson,

The site is almost new and no one has indexed that link. The only SEO plugin is Googlesitemaps and that link was indexed before the pluigin was installed.

My point is that the page doesn’t exist techincally but somehow it does?

How long have you owned the domain? Perhaps it existed prior?

Also, the ?s= means it’s a search of the site.

For example http://www.paramountseo.net/?s=services, which is why it’s not a post or page.

The domain was brand new and yes it is a search result of the site which is what I don’t get. Why is a search result indexed? For it to be indexed it would have to be a page of some sort.. I went into google webmaster tools and removed the link. Hopefully that works.. but you have no other explanation?

Google knows how to index WordPress sites and all other dynamic sites. I have no further explanation other than a mix up of some sort…
