    Hello,

    I am trying to install wordpress. When the installation finishes and I goto the wp-admin, I get the following message in firefox: "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

    I cleared my cookies, as that is not the problem. Might it be a server configuration issue and not my computer? .htaccess issue?

    In Internet Explorer, the page just does not load.

    It's really starting to drive me nuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    -Chris

    Problem solved!

    My subdomain was inheriting the main domains rewrite rules.

    set this option:
    ReWriteEngine Off

    In this subdomains .htaccess file which allows the domain to display properly.

    Hope this helps anyone else with similar issues!

    This seems to be a major problem with some blogs when uploading to the latest wordpress version. It is especially worrying when you can not login to the admin section of your blog. We have written a full and free step by step guide on how to fix the most common causes of this problem. You can view it here: http://wp-member.com/interactive-faq/wordpress-errors/how-to-fix-wordpress-error-firefox-has-detected-that-the-server-is-redirecting-the-request-for-this-address-in-a-way-that-will-never-complete/

    This has helped me, something with disabling canonical redirects.

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address.

    Is it possible to add this line from the "plugin":

    remove_filter('template_redirect', 'redirect_canonical');

    directly to code somewhere? I can't access wp-admin, so plugins are useless.

    You can add that line to the functions.php file in whatever theme is active on your site. If the regular theme doesn't work, add it to the default theme as WP reverts to the default theme if it finds a problem in the active theme. /wp-content/themes/{themename}/functions.php

    I followed these exact directions and it still gives me the error. My plugins folder is completely empty - still happens. Where do I go from here?
